The function of the new 26,000-square-foot Maintenance Training Unit (MTU) at the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) 航空 Technical Training Center (ATTC) in 北卡罗来纳州伊丽莎白市, is to support the facility’s primary mission of providing safe and effective maintenance for the USCG’s aviation fleet. 新的训练设施包括教室, storage space and a high-bay mock-up training hangar that helps ensure that ATTC’s graduates are prepared to support the 26 USCG aviation units across the country.
The addition of the facility provides the ATTC with a realistic training environment that will contribute to its task of training nearly 700 of the USCG’s aviation maintenance personnel yearly. Aircraft mockups and support equipment provide hands-on training opportunities that will translate directly to successful execution at each graduate’s next duty assignment.
